1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all tailoring and alteration services (“Services”) provided by Tailors Thread (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“you”, “your”). By booking our Services, you agree to these Terms. All enquiries and bookings must be made via our website (tailorsthread.co.uk) or WhatsApp.
2. Services
We provide tailoring and alteration services for men’s clothing only (including repairs, adjustments, and bespoke tailoring).
We do not currently offer services requiring the measurement of women.
We may, at our discretion, accept non-clothing items or special requests on a case-by-case basis.
Services are provided via a collection and delivery model; we do not offer on-premises or mobile fitting services.
We may decline to accept certain specialist fabrics or items (including but not limited to leather, suede, or heavily embellished garments) unless agreed in advance.
3. Booking and Collection/Delivery
Bookings must be made through our website or WhatsApp.
A collection and delivery fee applies to each order. Additional fees apply if collection and delivery addresses differ.
If you are not present at the agreed collection or delivery time and place, a rebooking fee will apply. If repeated attempts are unsuccessful, we reserve the right to cancel the service and charge a reasonable administrative fee.
Garments must be clean before collection. We do not accept soiled, dirty, or unwashed items for tailoring. We reserve the right to refuse any items that, in our sole discretion, do not meet this requirement or present a health or safety risk.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring all instructions, measurements, and contact details provided to us are accurate. Please ensure all personal belongings are removed from garments prior to collection; we accept no liability for loss of such items.
5. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of services, prior to delivery, unless otherwise agreed.
Accepted payment methods: cash, bank transfer, or credit card via secure payment link.
Invoices must be settled within 7 days of issue. Late payments may incur a reasonable administrative fee.
All prices are quoted in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
Collection and delivery fees, booking fees, and administrative fees are published on our website or provided at the time of booking.
6. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of the agreed collection time may incur a fee to cover costs incurred.
If you are repeatedly unavailable for collection or delivery, we may cancel your order and retain any fees paid.
7. Liability and Risk
All items are handled with care; however, services are provided at your risk.
We are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to items while in our care, except where caused by our proven negligence.
We do not accept liability for shrinkage, damage, or loss due to inherent defects in the materials, prior damage, or unsuitable cleaning methods.
Our maximum liability, if any, is limited to the lesser of the cost of repair or replacement of the item, up to a maximum of £100 per order.
We do not provide insurance for items in transit or in our possession.
8. Satisfaction and Refunds
We do not offer refunds for completed alterations or tailoring services.
If you are dissatisfied with the service, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We may, at our discretion, offer a free adjustment or correction.
No guarantee is made as to the fit or outcome of alterations where instructions or measurements are provided by you.
9. Intellectual Property
Any original designs, sketches, or patterns created by us remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We reserve the right to use photographs of completed work for marketing purposes, unless you request otherwise in writing.
10. Data Protection
We collect and process your personal data (including contact details and garment information) in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
All communication is conducted via our website or WhatsApp. We may store your data for future service improvement or marketing, with your consent.
11. Use of Third Parties and Subcontracting
We may engage trusted third-party partners, including independent tailors and cleaning specialists, to carry out or assist with our Services. These third parties are not our employees, but we have established long-term relationships with them and require them to adhere to our standards and these Terms.
By using our Services, you acknowledge and accept that certain aspects of your order may be fulfilled by such third-party providers. We remain your primary point of contact for all enquiries, complaints, and aftercare.
We are not liable for the independent acts or omissions of third-party providers beyond what is required by law, except where we have been negligent.
12. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse service for any item or customer at our sole discretion, including but not limited to items deemed unsuitable for alteration, presenting a health or safety risk, or in breach of these Terms.
13. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures to provide services due to circumstances beyond our control, including (but not limited to) illness, transport disruption, adverse weather, or delays caused by third-party couriers or partners.
14. Storage and Uncollected Items
Items uncollected or undelivered due to your unavailability will incur a daily storage fee of £2 per item, starting 7 days after the original delivery date.
We will make reasonable attempts to contact you regarding uncollected items. Items not collected within 30 days may be disposed of or donated to charity, with no liability to us. Disposal or donation will be carried out in line with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.
15. Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years old to book our services.
16. Complaints Procedure
Complaints must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of delivery. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it as quickly as possible.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the provision of our Services, superseding any prior agreements or communications.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
19. Amendments
We may update these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
